Yoga is not a religion; it’s a wellness philosophy. Like the saying goes, “If you don’t use it, you will lose it.” Yogic movements or poses can alleviate a person’s possible stagnant lifestyle of just standing, sitting, or lying down. The human body needs more than just basic movements; yoga is a great way to circumvent that. Many different types of yoga are available, yet anyone can benefit from structurally sound movements, deep stretching, and intentional breathing. Truth Awakening has partnered with Asana Awakening Yoga Project (AAYP) to offer their unique, one-of-a-kind Vin/Yin practice.
When Michael separated from the military, his body had major wear and tear. His wife Leah, a talented yoga instructor and founder of AAYP, finally was able to rein Michael in to practicing Yin Yoga shortly after departing the military. Since then, Michael has been hooked and knew some way he needed to share this mindful practice with the world!
Truth Awakening is delighted to share this practice with you in our membership service, The Shift! Every quarter, a new video will be posted. Don’t worry—Michael has practiced almost the exact yin sequence every morning for years to maintain better flexibility in his hips, back, and shoulders. It’s not about always doing something new; it’s about taking action and allowing consistency. This compounded over time will bring a new sense of vitality and longevity into your life!
“Studies have suggested possible benefits of yoga for several aspects of wellness, including stress management, mental/emotional health, promoting healthy eating/activity habits, sleep, and balance.”
